The Handbook is a translation of the Swedish 5:th edition, printed in 2014. Some adjustments have been made to comply with the latest international standards and to take advantage of the latest research within the fields of welding and design. The ambition has been to make the handbook independent of any design code, and thus accessible to anyone designing welded steel structures. For structures subject to static loads, the handbook relies on Eurocode 3. Regarding welded structures subject to fatigue, the handbook largely follows IIW:s recommendations.
